With the launch of the new Ones and Twos brand, we are now seeing a new cheaper alternative in the OSFM market.

One’s and Two’s are an affordable option fitting from birth to toilet training.

They can be used as a pocket nappy or you can lay the booster under the pocket to add extra absorbency. This nappy also comes with absorbency sewn into the gusset of the nappy which is a great feature for newborns. Not having to stuff or snap in absorbency so the nappy itself can be used as an All-in-One in the early stages. This also makes the transition to cloth alot easier.

I am using these on my 22 month old son and looking forward to trialing them on my newborn due to arrive next month. So what do I think? do I hear you ask? These nappies are a great little stash filler with a great price tag to match. A OSFM nappy designed to fit from birth to potty, they feature microfibre sewn in absorbency and come with a second microfibre booster. Velcro closure and snap down front.

I really love the fit of a velcro closure something I believe the OSFM market does not offer enough of. The design of the Ones and Twos are also a little different with the absorbency sewn into the nappy itself and a pocket which is not just an opening in the front/back of the nappy. Here you have the opportunity to boost the absorbency by stuffing the booster in the pocket or simply laying under the pocket flap itself. I hear a lot of complaining about having to stuff pockets being a royal pain, this feature is just for you and is so easy and quick.

You also have the option to purchase a 2 pack of bamboo boosters for $9.95 if you prefer these as opposed the microfibre booster that comes with the nappy.

Coming in 6 individual colours and white being available in White multi packs. We are also offering the colours in multi packs at the same awesome price.

Priced at $22.95 for a single or $99.95 for a 5 pack, these are truly an affordable option for all families.

I have just returned from a family weekend away in Geelong. It was a lovely weekend full of cuddles, fun & giggles from my 13 month old son. We were away for 2 nights including a lot of driving.

I decided to use this time to really test out the Grovia Hybrid Nappies and use the BioSoakers. I have 3 shells and one pack of 20 BioSoakers. Now I don’t like harmful chemicals- and my son’s skin does not appreciate the chemicals in disposable nappies or even the biodegradable nappies. So I read the packet of Grovia BioSoakers with some caution. The lining is certified natural, 100% Ingeo spunbound non- woven fabric and is also compostable. The core consists of sustainably harvested wood pulp fibers and a minimal amount of SAP gel and the waterproof outer is 100% natural Bio-Film. The packet assures me that the BioSoakers are fragrance & dye free as well Plastic & chlorine free. They are bodegradable and compostable. It all sounds good but I decide to check Master A after it’s been on an hour.

We head off on our trip and make a stop a little over an hour in. I check the nappy and am pleasantly surprised. Master A’s skin is dry and comfortable, no visible irritation at all. The nappy has already been wet quite a bit as Master A has had a lot to drink but it’s not smelly or heavy. I take the BioSoaker off and dispose of it. Feel strange for a 100% cloth-nappying Mumma but I read the packet again and remind myself it is biodegradable. The shell is still dry so I re-use it by sticking a new BioSoaker on. This time I don’t check for 3 hours which is when we arrive in Geelong. Again the skin is dry and clear, the nappy is full but has not leaked and surprisingly still no smell. It is now 5 hours until Master A has a bath and goes to bed- I decide to really test the nappy out. 5 hours later including a lot of water, a bottle, and a bowel movement and still no leaks! I am very impressed!

I wash the 2 shells I used today on a normal wash cycle and they are dry again in the morning. I use the Hybrid system all the next day and am impressed with the ease of it all! It’s also great to have some more room in the nappy bag.

I will definitely use the hybrid system again when we go away next. I may even consider using it at home part-time once we have our compost garden set up.

Are you wanting to make the move to using cloth overnight but are a that little bit reluctant?

Still think the trusty disposable is the way to go overnight?

Hopefully I can shed some light on the subject and maybe, just maybe give you the confidence to make the switch.

Yes I will admit it, I too was scared to make the switch with my daughter and up until the birth of my son, she wore disposables overnight. I can now happily tell you that we are a full time Cloth nappy household and have been for very close to 8 months.

So where did I start? I was one of the lucky ones that started with one of the best, Issy Bear Night Baby

My collection slowly grew to include a Issy Bear Night Baby, Bonnibuns, Twinkle Lily Supernights,BBH Magicall AIO, Pop In Dream Dri and last but not least I also use the tutto to complete my night stash.

I also use BBH Bamboo fitted and BBH Hemp fitted. Both of which are great back ups when I don’t have a clean and dry Night nappy on hand.

I am very lucky to not have a leak or wet bed in my trials, I think this can be put down to the fantastic products I was using. Yes I do have my fav, and it is not much between my top 4 choices, just some very minor advantages that I look for in a nappy that set them apart.

I was looking for a night nappy that was trim (I can hear you laughing), absorbent and was easy to use. Cute fabric is definitely a bonus and not something that was a priority.

I will start with the Twinkle Lily Supernights.

The Supernights nappy is a fitted nappy with snap in boosters for different absorbency combinations.
A fantastic nappy, absorbs soooo much and I love how the boosters and inside of the nappy are all colour co ordinated. A similiar design to the BBH Night Nappy with the insert system being a little different. This nappy easily lasted over 12 hours.
The only cons that I can find in this nappy is the need for a cover and the way that the whole nappy works with absorption meant that bubs was a little damp in the morning.

Next up is the tutto.

The tutto is a AI2 system. A quick drying shell with 3 snap in boosters for different absorbency combinations.
A surprising entry into my night nappy stash. I only started using this nappy as all my others where in the wash or drying. I did add a GroVia Organic Booster to the nappy along with all inserts just for that extra boost as I didn’t want to take any chances. I actually got a 14 hour run out of this combo, no leaks. VERY FULL, but no leaks. For a nappy that is not designed for overnight use, this is a great alternative if you have one in your stash already and don’t want to make the plunge into the Night Nappy arena.
Not really any cons with this nappy for overnight use, I just have others that I prefer to use at night so I can leave this for a day time nappy.

Issy Bear Night Baby what a superb night nappy to start off on my Night Nappy Journey.

The Issy Bear Night Baby is a pocket nappy that comes with a day and night insert. You can use the nappy with the day insert for use during the day or snap both together for a supreme night nappy booster combo.
The absorbency of the Issy Bear inserts are second to none. A very affordable night nappy too. This nappy was my benchmark nappy. Each nappy I try had to compare with the Issy Bear. Did you know that the Issy Bear Minky Baby is better overnight that teh night nappy? So much cuter too. Having said this performance wise if I where to compare the night v minky is minimal. The boosters are what makes this nappy as great as it is. The super gorgeous minky and night patterns are a bonus.
Again not really any cons with this nappy, a great nappy to add to your stash and start your overnight’s with.

BBH Magicall AIO

The BBH Magicall AIO is an All In One with a pocket to customize absorbency if needed.
My first choice for overnight nappy for my daughter. The BBH Magicall AIO with a twist. For overnight use I add an Issy Bear Booster. This combination works perfectly for my daughter. I love the fit of the nappy and the booster gives it superpowers! No Leaks, 14 hours easy and bubs feels dry. The Magicall Smooth is my fav as the fit from the velcro closure is alot better than snaps, but alas, the smooth is being discontinued…
I also use this nappy overnight on my now 8 month old Super Wee’r with the Issy Bear booster combination with great success.

Pop In Dream Dri

The Pop In Dream Dri is an All In 2 System – 2 speed drying boosters Dream Dri with a Pop In bamboo night booster.
Another surprising addition to my Night Nappy Stash is the Pop In Dream Dri, together with the Night Booster this makes a great combination. The nappy itself is soo fast drying you have to test it to believe. It evens dries in wet weather! The night booster takes alot longer to dry so I would suggest a 2nd night booster for a quick turnaround.

A great nappy to convert to night with the ability to use in the day time aswell. With a small outlay for a night booster a definite must try if you already have some Dream Dri’s in your day stash. Lasts the distance easily. The only con for the Dream Dri is that bamboo night booster doesn’t have the stay dry feel so that bub can be a little damp in the morning. Although thi sis quite minor as the nappy does last the distance.

And last but not least, my fav Bonnibuns. Until I tried this nappy, I was content with my Issy Bear and BBH.
The Bonnibuns is a AI2 nappy system with 2 snap in boosters and a pocket with a tri fold booster that can be used for extra absorbency.
I love this night nappy. It has great absorbency, a pocket for extra boosters if needed and is a super soft minky to top it off.
Why the Bonnibuns Night Nappy you ask?
Absorbency – I love that it is soo absorbent.
Trimness – I love that the crotch is that little bit slimmer than other, so that the bulk of the nappy is on the bum and not between the legs. Don’t get me wrong, this is a night nappy afterall and it is still more bulky than your regular day nappies.
Ease of use – No snap down fronts. It is a One Size Fits Most so it fits my 2 1/2 year old aswell as my 8mth old perfectly.
Cons? I don’t own enough!

To bring this super long entry to a close, I hope that I have helped you gain a little confidence in trying out a night nappy. Be it one of your existing nappies or you decide to purchase a night nappy. You won’t regret it.

My next test is to trial a nappy bucket liner or a Large Wetbag. Worth the extra cost? Useful? read on…

The motivation: I visited my parents for a weekend and decided the bucket was too awkward to keep travelling with, I can wash while I am there so I will just use my wetbags… 3 wetbags later and I wished I had a jumbo wetbag! You know the extra large ones that hold up a huge amount of nappies?

Well just my luck I had been sent a Kissaluv Pail Liner to trial and I have been using for nearly 2 weeks and I am very happy with it’s performance. No it is not a wetbag and the only downside of this is it has an elasticated top that folds over the bucket and you can’t actually close it, but it does do the same thing. My nappy bucket is no where near as smelly as it is without it, I can get an extra day before I need to wash and I just pull the whole thing out of my nappy bucket and stuff the contents into the washing machine without having to touch the nappies again. So emptying the bucket liner as I fill the machine, pushing it inside out, if that makes sense.

So have I grabbed a huge wetbag yet? I have found a great sized wetbag by Pop In and it is quite popular. I seem to sell out before I get them in stock!

I will be adding the Pop In Large Wetbag to my stash and come to think of it, I am going away for Christmas so I will need one. So no more excuses!!

I set myself a quest a little while ago now. To find the perfect flushable liner.

I have been using Bambino Mio flushable liners since I first started using cloth nappies. I love them, they are super soft easily rip in half for newborns and smaller bubs. Really I can’t complain… or can I?

I hated how when I tried to get 1 of of the packet it would end up being a big chunk of 10 and you can never get them back in the packet the same. Yes this really did and still does annoy me (and hubby too)

Apart from this, I really had no reason to look for a new product… or did I? So many people where raving about other brands and how good these other brands where. So this is where my challenge stemmed from. Maybe my Bambino Mio aren’t as good as I think they are? So I tried a few others, in total and came back full circle. I am still using my super soft, Bambino Mio flushable liners BUT I have added to my “stash” if I could call it that.

I discovered Imse Vimse flushable liners. I love how these are on a roll. I use these liners when I am out and about. The ease of rolling a liner off is so much better than trying to pull 1 liner out of a packet (and ending up pulling 10). But wait there’s more! I was also lucky enough to end up with a roll of Pop In bio-degradable liners. These are very similar to the Imse Vimse, on a roll (so great for when I am out) and a little thicker too. I am also pleasantly surprised and you guessed it, I will also be stocking these quite soon.

So as my post comes to end, has my quest? Yes… for now…

Although I didn’t find the supreme flushable liner. I found 3 great products that work great for me and I am very comfortable recommending them on to you.

GroVia AIO - organic cotton inner, soft PUL outer. This nappy is sooo soft to touch and all natural on the inside for super sensitive bubs, OSFM AIO with an extra snap in booster and not too bulky to boot! I think I quite like it
Overall fit is great! It has side snaps and the tabs are a little stretchy so fit is quite comfortable with a little bit of give for when bubs sits up etc.
Drying time – very good. I am in Canberra and the days I tested it was raining day on/off. Nappy was hung out at around 5pm and I brought it in at around 1pm the next day to dry inside as it is still a little damp (sun no longer shining on the clothes line). Overall for a AIO (similiar to an itti AIO) I think the drying time is pretty good and it is still so soft after washing. I am looking forward to using again.
This nappy has impressed me. TBH I did not expect it to be as good as it has turned out to be. The fit is quite slim for an AIO and it doesn’t have the baggyness in the back that you can get from some other brands. The elastic around the legs and in the back is nice and soft. And I just love that it is all organic cotton on the inside. If you have a super sensitive bubs then this is perfect. If you would like to see this nappy IRL I will be adding it to my kit for nappy demonstations.

GroVia as a night nappy?
I must say I am pleasantly surprised. I did not have much hope for this test at all. The nappy lasted 12 hours (8pm – 8am) although there was a small leak at the top of the nappy on the front left hand side, it was full. But other than that all good. I think with an extra booster this will be fine. And for a non heavy wee’er there shouldn’t be a prob at all.

Tutto as a night nappy: Would it help if I say I cheated… a little?
I wanted to try the tutto as a night nappy to see how it went. I don’t mind the fit (i like the higher rise on the thigh) on both my now 4 1/2 month old and my nearly 2 1/2 year old. It is a slim fitting multifit… I guess this should have been expected as it was coming from itti bitti.
Back to overnight. I know I am not supposed to use all the inserts (or am I?) I do any way. My 4 1/2 month old can out wee his big sister and I don’t like to take any chances. So on this particular night I used all inserts as normal, added a booster (GroVia Stay Dry booster) and it worked a treat! Lasting nearly 12 hours, no leaks! I definitely think it could have gone a little longer. I just didn’t want to push it first on the first overnight usage.
So if you have one at home, give it a go… see what you think.
